Abstract: The present study explored the role of pension and gratuity on the social-economic integration in the life of UPDF retirees in Uganda with the case of Wakiso District. The survey data were collected from 21 administrators and 400 other ranks of UPDF retirees within Wakiso District. The purpose of the study was to examine the Role of pension and Gratuity on social economic integration on retirees, case UPDF Retirees of Wakiso District. The study was based on aspects of Pension and Gratuity and the social economic status moderated by Government Laws and policies. UPDF retirees faced challenges like Failure to integrate into civilian life, increased poverty, social discrimination, and others, which makes their lives hard and regret the end of life they live and having served the army. The objectives of the study were to (i) assess the role Pension and Gratuity on social life of UPDF retirees (ii) determine the role of pension and Gratuity on Economic life of UPDF Retirees (iii) assess the role of pension and Gratuity on motivation of UPDF Retirees&#xD;
The survey data was collected from a sample size of 215 respondents of which 196 returned questionnaires, with 6 interviews conducted.  The design was a cross sectional survey and the data was collected using questionnaires and interview guides. According to the respondents, Pension had an average positive response rate of 71% indicating a positive impact with 28.6% alternating negative impact, Gratuity had 54.4% Positive impact on the social economic integration of retiree and 44.2% negative impact, the general social economic stature of retirees had 57.5% by average agree with retirement life and concepts, 20% strongly agree, 10.25% disagree and 0.124% strongly disagree with the retirement life and concepts. More to that from the Column Chart, an average rate of 63.8%, However, 38.2% by average responses mentioned that, they were not knowledgeable of anything about the retirement and its benefits. Based on the findings above, pension and gratuity has played a very vital role in the social economic integration of the life of UPDF retirees.  It is recommended that the organization should carry out In-service skills training, trainings on retirement, financial management, Academic Training, Revision of the pension formula, Rehabilitation, psychosocial support and resettlement, foreign mission deployments, Civil jobs Empowerment, entrepreneurship training, after service follow up as the retirees transit in life.

Abstract: Forest product exploitation remain a challenge impacting on the global environment. The study established forest product exploitation and its effect on the environmental in Kasese district, Uganda. It specifically assessed factors influencing forest product exploitation, examined effect of forest product exploitation on the environment, and analyzed approaches to mitigate forest product exploitation in Ibanda parish. The study employed a cross-sectional survey designed using both qualitative and quantitative data collection approaches. It targeted a population of 1000 people from whom 286 were determined using Slovene’s formula. Simple random and purposive sampling techniques were employed to select the participants in the study. Data was collected through Interview, questionnaire, and later data was analyzed using SPSS version 26 to generate descriptive statistics for analysis. The findings revealed that expanding for farmland, logging, urbanization /industrialization and infrastructure and fires were key factors influencing forest product exploitation. Further, findings shown climate change 35%, and soil resources loss and flooding, water 17.5%, decrease in biodiversity, habitant loss and conflicts 23.1%, economic losses 14%, and social consequences 10.5% as the environmental effects of forest product exploitation. Lastly, results indicated that collaboration (44%), followed by awareness (27.9%) and sensitization (20.9%) law and policy (6.9%) were the approaches to challenges from forest product exploitation. Conclusively, forest product exploitation cause environmental effects which are detrimental to community. The study recommended that government should strengthen laws on environmental protection and conservation the environment, sensitize masses about the importance of forest, use community resource management approach in conserving the forest ecosystem and implement environmental conservation laws and policies and ensure that forests are protected from encroachers especially man and his activities

Abstract: The aim of the study was to investigate the impact of Turkish assistance on the stability and peace building in Somalia in given period of 2011-2022. The study employed a cross sectional research design where the researcher employed both quantitative and qualitative research approaches where data was collected from 138 and 10 respondents through the usage of questionnaires and interviews. Turkish assistance on the peace building in Somalia has been high, this was revealed with the overall mean was 3.57, the standard deviation was 1.42.  Secondly Turkish has provide some assistance in state building in Somalia, the mean was 3.57, the standard deviation was 1.31. Thirdly Turkish assistance in political stability of Somalia has generally been high. The Turkey assistance is through military training to Somali armies, provided financial military support to combat political instability, physical evacuation of the affected people after bombing and support for the search of the rebels and finally Turkey in humanitarian assistance among the people of Somalia was generally rated as good though with limitations, the mean of (M=3.69, the standard deviation was 1.35) interpreted as high meaning that Turkey has provide some reasonable aid in stimulating the humanitarian assistance amongst the people in Somalia.. The study concluded that Turkey assistance in peace building in Somalia is generally in a fair mode, Turkey’s efforts compared to other countries is immense and has the potential to alleviate the peace building in Somalia. The study indicate that humanitarian assistance has been a vital area by Turkey in the realization of the humanitarian assistance meaning that should Turkey increase their efforts towards the people of Somalia, the situation will be increased to good performance. The study recommends for a more consolidated plan and policy aimed at enhancing the Turkey assistance to peace building, secondly there is need for a plan by Turkey to increase its allocations for Turkey assistance in state building through the realization of the state building. Furthermore, the study recommends that Turkey invite other country’s assistance to complement their efforts in state building in Somalia, thirdly there is need for the development of the resources needed for the organization excellence in development of the stable forces to Somalia. and finally, the study recommends that humanitarian assistance need to be developed amongst then people in Somalia.
